Patricia and Mark Addison’s son was killed five years ago, driving home from college on Christmas Eve. Since that tragic event, they’ve been unable to transcend their grief to reach out to each other and have given up hope of ever having another joyous Christmas. But when Patricia brings home a 5-year-old who’s just lost her mother, God begins His healing work through the innocent but penetrating questions of this very special little girl.
Through the presence of Emily in their house and her questions about heaven, the Addisons learn that there is no sorrow so great that faith can’t help us find our way through it. This is a powerful tale of love in the face of loss, joy when all seems hopeless and how the light of God’s healing love can shine into the darkest of places.
